so that the definition of school so what if we don't have discipline. is it mean that student can come to school anytime the want or we can cheat in exams so what the point of coming to school , school should be a place for us to learn ,so we should have discipline
but what if we have too much discipline
is it wrong to oversleep because if someone study until very late , then the next day late and teacher give me detention is it fair ,yes its not fair but that the discipline we are talking about you see the reason above is lack of responsibility.
school not only let student learn discipline but all the values we should have

If I could live anywhere,i would still want to live in singapore because we do not have war and everyone is very paeceful and most of us can work together reguardless of how different we may be.Even thought our goverment takes alot of money using ERP, GST ect ,they still do help the poor in our country abit,we also have good economics so we do not need to worry about our parents getting fired or quitting their job.i think the main reason to why i wound still want to live in sg is because my friends and family are here and i do feel very safe here not because there are police but because this is my home and i have people who will care for me here.

Index 14- Journal entry (edited)

If you could live anywhere, where would you live in?

If I could live anywhere, I would still choose to live in Singapore because that is the place where I was born and it is the place where it is very memorable to me.

Though, the weather in Singapore is humid, it has a good education and environment for learning as compared to the other countries. As a result, most people from other countries would want to migate to Singapore.

Actually, I would like to live in overseas where nobody will know me. Probably, I would want to live in Paris, Franch as it is a country of fine arts. But I will have to learn to speak French first!

I will live in Singapore forever no matter what happen. Whether Singapore snow or not, it does not change my view of where to stay. As long as, my family, friends and everyone else is living in the same country , under the same roof, breathing the same air and speaking the same language, it's fine with me whether or not we are in Singapore.

In conclusion, I think I would live in Singapore. As it is the best country in the world to me!

Reg.27 journal entry

If I would live anywhere in the world, where would I live? I would rather choose home than any other places in the world because I know that living in foreign country is just horrible enough for me.

Home is the most comfortable place for all men and women.I would buy a land and build a cute house for myself and parents. When I have a romantic house and many close friends around me, it is so called a happy life.I think that the location of my house should be located where I can speak my mother language freely.I feel frustrating whenever Singaporean speak Chinese to me.I have to explain them that I do not speak Chinese it is a waste of time to explain to them. Also, I feel stressed when I use English to talk.I cannot express my mind fully or even less than a half.

The reason I chose my country rather than other beautiful places is because of nothing. It would sound odd but it is true that you feel very comfortable and relaxed when you are in your country and would be better when you are at your home in your country. It may be caused by the temperature of the place.I feel like dying under Singapore's hot weather.I miss snow and strong wind. You can get homesick if you miss your country to much.I have experienced it in the beginning of my foreign living.

I will always choose my home country as my place of living.

Essay index 38

School is a place for studying, playing and fun and laughter,School is also considered our second home. Some people think that school should be a place of discipline. I disagree.
To begin,we will first talk about the rules that should be implant into the school.Rules such as Discipline,Behaviour and many more others.Without these rules,we are sure that we cannot concentrate in studying. Also, the problem we face are conflicting with teachers, the students will be stress when facing the teachers
The teachers in school are not the parents of the student, so they can't use any abusive discipline method on the student. If they want to discipline the student, they must call the student's parent to allow them to use this method. To conclude, we disagree that the school to use abusive discipline methods to discipline the students in school, students should also be discipline. Thank you !

No. 11 Essay Writing

School is a place where we can learn, play and work. We gain new knowledge and even life long skills. It is a place that is even considered our second home. For instance, imagine a home which is full of discipline- this does not make any sense as a home should be somewhere comfortable to stay. Thus, I believe that school should not be a place of discipline.

To begin with, having discipline makes students stiff, and not lively in their school lives. This leads to pupils not communicating when they are supposed to and this means that the interactions between teachers and students will stop. If this happens, it will be the same as not attending school because there are no interactions or socialisations. Too much discipline may also make the students afraid to ask questions to clarify the things that they do not understand. Most of the time, this will result in the dropping of academic grades.

Furthermore, discipline makes life at school harsher and stricter. If I were given the choice, I would choose to study in a place without discipline, as it would be a more comfortable environment to study and concentrate in. Studying or spending hours in places that you are not used to, or uncomfortable ...in, would make you lose concentration as the surroundings will bother you. You may also be very tense and cannot relax or enjoy the moments in school because of all the discipline.

However, students these days are found to be less obedient and mannerless. They do not bother to greet their teachers or elders at all. They do not apply their learning into their daily lives and ignore the school rules. Such examples may be when they do not tuck in their shirts but fold it, or when they ...alter their skirts and pants to the length they desire. This is not allowed but they do not care, and disobey these concrete rules. Sometimes, they do not take the lessons and what they learn in it seriously and even treat it as a practical joke.

Moreover, they could show bad images of the school and the country. Many students do not care whether they are at school or public places, and swear using vulgar words. If they are in their school uniform in a public place, they are putting a morally wrong image of their school, as well as showing a bad i...mage of Singapore to foreigners.

To summarize it all, I believe that schools should not have a strong discipline system in order to make school life more enjoyable for the students. Studying, playing and living in a comfortable and optimistic environment will allow the students of Singapore to grow wisely, to stand tall and be prepared for ...their future through the socialisation and interaction in their second home, our school.

(If I could live anywhere in the world, where would I live?)
If I could live anywhere in the world, I would choose to live in a place which is filled with fresh air, the environment is clean and green and a clear blue sky.
Nobody would choose to stay in a place where the air that you breathe in is polluted including me. Fresh air also makes me feel cool and refreshing.
Clean. The environment that is clean makes a person feel much better rather than living in a place that is filled with rubbish. If the place is filthy, it will be filled with rats and cockroaches which would make me feel disgust hence living in a place that is clean is more suitable for me.
Looking at the clear blue sky, makes me feel relaxing. Hence I like looking at the clear blue sky which could make me feel relaxing and enjoying the nice scenery of it.
Even though this is my dream place, but living in Singapore is still the best as in Singapore you can feel safe at all times. As living in a new country, it will take time for me to adapt into the new environment hence I would rather stay in Singapore.

Journal entry (39)

If I could live anywhere in the world, perhaps I'd choose to live in a country which experiences four seasons a year. As you know, Singapore is a tropical country and does not really experience four seasons a year. Instead, Singapore is just humid and hot, we also experience a month or two of high rainfall. This definitely bores me and I want to experience being able to wear different clothing every season.

It will be a totally different thing for me and for winter, I may be able to build a snow man and perhaps sled down a snowy mountain! For autumn, I can see the leaves turn red, orange or perhaps purple? It'll be something really new and unique for me personally. I'd be able to see flowers bloom in spring and eat ice-cream and chill out during summer with my best friends.

A place with fresh air and a pretty skyline gets bonus points! Also a place with a beautiful sunset would absolutely fulfil my criteria of a dream country. Staying in Singapore actually really bores me because whenever I look out of the window, all I see is just simply green trees and buildings. It would really be stunning if I were to see snow, flowers or red leaves when I look out of the window. Being able to watch the sunset and see a pretty skyline would really be amazing!

As much as I would like to stay in my dream country, I would also like to remain in Singapore. Mainly because Singapore is where I grew up, it holds fondest childhood memories for me. Without growing up in Singapore, I would not be who I am today, like for example, the way I speak, the food I eat and the way I actually dress up. However, if I do get the chance, I would like to travel the world and experience different seasons in a year.
Enforcing discipline on children can prove to be difficult and frustrating. In this era, students have become more rebellious and lack discipline. Therefore,I agree that school should be a place of discipline,
Firstly,as working parents don't spend much time with their children, school can be another place for children to train on their behaviour. While some teachers have the ability to maintain the class in order just by stepping into the class ,others have difficulties to maintain class of unruly and naughty students in order. The principle(leader of the school)patrols the schoolto tighten discipline and to think of students for truancy and deliquency.
However, character building starts at home and parents understand the child best.some teachers may not understand the student well and may misunderstand their thoughts and feelings. Therefore, the child may be treated and disciplined wrongly and thus lacks the correct sense of discipline.
In conclusion,I feel that the school should be a place of discipline as to train the student to differentiate the rights and the wrongs. However, teachers plays an important role to understand each and every of the student he or she coaches and to upbring them according to their requirements so the students could accomplish more.

Journal no. 21 :)

If i could stay anywhere i want in this world, i would stay in the country side(other countries). Although it may be quite dirty, no proper tolilet and it is very difficult to go to the city to buy food, but it would all be worth it.

In the morning, i can breathe the fresh air outside the house and take a walk to see the green trees, beautiful flowers and the simmering sea. And i do not have to worry about work or anything stressful. I can live peacefully with the people i like. Spending time together with them makes our bounding and trust stronger. We can also go green and save the Earth. In the country side, i can see the simmering star in the night sky as we have very little stars in Singapore. We also can see the sun rise and sun set everyday.

In the country side, we may meet many other different people. We can make friends and learn what they learn over there, their cultures. Knowing more cultures and learning what they learn, i gain another knowledge, another friend. Playing with them too. Laughing and forgeting all the sad things at home.

Although i want to stay in the country side (other countries), I think i will miss my home, Singapore. I will not stay at the country side (other countries) forever, once i finish playing and relaxing, i will soon go home.

Index no.19's journal entry

If i could live anywhere in the world, i would like to live in a place where the air is fresh and cool, and every morning when i wake up and open my window, i will be greeted by the sound of birds chirping cheerfully, sounds of children playing happily and good sunlight too. I would also like a place with clear blue sky most of the time and with a lake or maybe blooming flowers and soft grass everywhere.

Of course, this is just a dream place..... In reality, I would want to leave in singapore because this is my homeland, this is where i grew up in, this is where i belong. If i have to go to another country, its gonna be very difficult because i have to adapt to the new environment. And another thing is thta i don't think i can bear to leave singapore for another country, then I'm going to miss everything here.... My Home....

index number 16's journal entry

If I could live anywhere in the world, I would love to live somewhere where I can see open skies and green fields and maybe alake or waterfall so clear that on good days I can see white clouds reflected in it. However i would also love to have kids or children playing around as a too secluded surrounding would make me feel uneasy and unadaptable. Without them the scenery and beauty will be meaningless, as if there's something missing in it.

Too often, living in a city, we forget that we only see slivers of the sky since most of it has been blocked by tall buildings. Sooner or later we will feel trapped in a island of anxiety and stress. Life will be more of confronting stress than enjoying it.

While I wish I can stay in Singapore, which is my first home, and will always have a special place in my heart, i would love to venture into other countries, exploring their culture and lifestyle. By appreciating their culture, i believe it will make me love singapore and treasure her more than ever.

School is a place where we study, work and play. It is the place where we nurture our creativity and minds to prepare us to go into the harsh world. Discipline is an essential need in our lives as we need it when we are going into adulthood. Without discipline the school will be in a chaos and at the same time, no respect will be given to the teachers and principals from the students. Hence, we agree that discipline is needed in the school.

To begin with, discipline places an important role in our lives as it reflects on how well our elders educate us. Comparing a school with discipline and one without discipline, majority of us will prefer to study in the school with discipline as we find that we can concentrate better. Concentrating in that school will not be a problem as there will be no disruptions or interruptions.

Secondly, nowadays especially the younger generation do not show respect to anyone at all. This is a very crucial matter as this bad example may be passed on to the next generation and the disrespectfulness will continue on and more hearts will be shattered.

There are also advantages of not having discipline in schools too. Pupils may not feel that they are being pushed off the edge as the stress given by their elders will decrease.

Secondly, they may feel more lighthearted without feeling so much pressure. This may allow them to concentrate better with a positive attitude.

In conclusion, our opinions of discipline are something that prepares us for venturing into the harsh and cold world when we are older so it is something that we cannot miss in our lives.
